Concert Review SINARO – Hirsch Nuremberg – 2-17-2020

Finally … the first European tour of our Supportband SINARO, together with headliner UNEARTH, the metal veterans PRONG from USA and the German Metal-Band DUST BOLT, has finally arrived in Germany. Starting with shows in Netherlands, UK and Belgium they performed the first of seven gigs on German stages at “Hirsch“ in Nuremberg…the tour comprises 15 shows in total.

The light goes out, the stage lighting is deep, rigid blue. Drummer Nick Scherden, Bass Guitarist Jon Perkins, Frontman Gus Sinaro and Guitarist Mike Cassano enter the stage to the sound of “Last Memories” from the first album NO SALVATION.

After a short announcement by Gus Sinaro, “No Salvation”, title giving track from the band’s debut, kicks off the show with full power. The first chords of Gus‘ intro riff captivate the audience and inevitably there is an „urge to move“ among the Metalheads. With a 30-Minute-Slot, there is “no time to waste” so “Break the Paradigm” and “Becoming Ashes” from the current work THE LIVING DEAD follow almost seamlessly. At the latest now the whole crowd is “with the music”.

During a short interlude before the last act – which unfortunately came much too soon – guitars were changed and the show contiues with full force. The single „Ruins of the Empire“ opens the final round before „The Living Dead“, title song of the current album, ends an unfortunately much too short appearance.

The four protagonists delivered a great show right from the start. With incredible speed and indestructible power, Drummer Nick Scherden pushed each track to full speed. The perfect interaction with Jon Perkins on bass laid the foundation for a performance that’s bursting with energy and power. Guitarist and „Second Voice“ Mike Cassano fought some „Axe Duels“ with frontman Gus Sinaro and was definitely equal to the „master“ in terms of precision, speed and power. Band Leader Gus Sinaro, both vocal- and guitarwise, was completely convincing and undoubtedly proved that he is one of the best in his field. In my opinion, he also „put together the right package“ to arouse curiosity and desire for more among those who have not yet had SINARO on their screens.

After the show, Gus told me we saw the future line-up here. After all released albums and singles so far are created by Gus and have been recorded with changing guest musicians, the boys will work out the next album together. We are very curious.
